MSOC: Husson loses to Babson on Saturday

Box Score

BABSON PARK, Mass. - Justin Kaplan broke through in the 67th minute, and Carlo Araujo followed with his first career goal as Babson (Mass.) defeated Husson, 2-0, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Hartwell-Rogers Field.

Noah Parker chipped in with an assist for the Beavers. Goalkeeper Stephen Donato did not have to make a save to post his first shutout of the season.

Despite continually creating scoring chances, Babson (1-1) was thwarted by Eagles' goalkeeper Steven Paquette for much of the afternoon. He tipped away an attempt by Andrew Gonzalez less than two minutes into the match and made a diving save on Tyler Carlos' bicycle-kick from the edge of the box in the closing minute of the first half.

Paquette made a pair of saves early in the second half before Kaplan's goal. Taking a cross from Parker, he drilled a header that crossed the goal line before Paquette could get to it for a 1-0 lead. Araujo then extended the advantage with his brace in the 79th minute.

Paquette finished with 11 saves, seven of which came in the first half for Husson (1-1).

Phil Frost and Stephen Berenyi each had one shot for the Eagles.

The Eagles visit Wheaton (Mass.) on Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
