WSOC: Husson loses to Maine-Fort Kent

BANGOR, Maine - Husson dropped a 5-0 decision to defending USCAA national champion Maine-Fort Kent on Tuesday afternoon at Boucher Field. The Eagles suffer just their second loss in 11 games against the Bengals.

Maine-Fort Kent (11-2) scored first in the 17th minute when Catherine Bruno went top shelf from 25 yards out. The Bengals scored again in the 27th minute when Marie-Laurence Montagne found the back of the net on a breakaway. Montagne made the score 3-0 in the 33rd minute.

Katherine Ferland, with an assist by Emma Ashby, scored in the 49th minute, before Kayla Richards found the back of the net in the 56th minute on a penalty kick for the final tally.

Taylor Fortin had two shots and one shot on goal for Husson (3-5-1).

Netminder Peighton Ahlberg recorded one save in the win.

Goalkeeper Kayla Gordon made 19 saves in defeat.

Husson resumes NAC play Saturday when the Eagles host Johnson State (Vt.) at 4 p.m. ET.
