Box Score WINTER HAVEN, FL - The Husson University baseball team scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning and held on to post a 6-4 win over Suffolk. Husson goes to 1-2 on the year while Suffolk is 2-2.
In the top of the fifth, Kyle Bishop knocked in a pair of runs on a double and Julien Boone and Christian Corneil each had run scoring triples that gave Husson a 6-1 lead.
Suffolk came back to score a run in the eighth and two in the ninth, but the Eagles held on for the win.
Corneil went 2-4 with the RBI while Ryan Rebar and JT Whitten each added a hit and RBI.
Dan Whitney pitched 6.0 innings, allowing just one earned run and six hits to get the win.
Husson continues play tomorrow with a pair of contests against RIC.
