Box Score FARMINGTON, ME - Victoria McIntyre (Mars Hill, ME) scored a game-high 18 points and added seven rebounds to lead the Husson University women's basketball team to a 65-57 win at UMaine-Farmington on Wednesday evening. The Eagles improve to 16-8 overall and 14-3 in NAC play while UMF falls to 11-13 and 10-7 in conference play.
The Eagles opened up a 39-24 halftime lead courtesy of 15 points from McIntyre and seven points from Stephanie Comstock (Bangor, ME). Husson forced UMF into 16 first half turnovers while only committing three.
Husson held a 51-36 lead midway through the second half, but the Beavers went on a 19-to-8 run to get within 59-55 with 2:11 left.
However, following a Chandler Guerrette (Presque Isle, ME) miss, Katy Brochu (Bangor, ME) corralled the rebound and put back a layup to give the Eagles a six-point lead that would prove insurmountable as the Eagles went onto the win.
Brochu finished with 12 points and six rebounds while Kelsea Bouchard (Winslow, ME) added nine points.
Lindsay Ranquist scored 14 points and had six rebounds for UMF.
Husson shot 32.8 percent for the contest while UMF shot 46.0 percent. The Eagles forced 28 turnovers and scored 21 points off of them.
Husson finishes its regular season on Saturday as the Eagles host Thomas at 3 p.m. on Senior Day.
