The two teams split the first 12 points of set one, but Bates (6-8) countered with a 4-0 run to take the upper hand for good. Similiar to set one, the second game was a back-and-forth affair in the early going, with each team splitting the first 18 points. After giving up the first four points in game three to Bates, Husson came back to trail by only one, 5-4, after a bad set by Forney. However, a 7-0 Bates run, concluding with a Cassidy Martin kill, put the set out of reach. The Bulldogs scored the final eight points to win the set and match.
