Box Score BANGOR, Maine - Husson picked up its ninth-straight win over Lyndon State (Vt.) after a 6-0 triumph Sunday in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at Boucher Field. The Eagles, who have scored 13 goals in the last two days, are unbeaten in 10-straight in the series.
Husson (5-5-1, 2-2 NAC) struck first in the 27th minute when Katey Curtis scored the first of her two goals Sunday with an assist by Alison Boulier.
"I think we did a great job passing and keeping possession," Curtis said. "We had a lot of shots on goal."
Boulier's second assist in the game came in the 41st minute she served a ball into the box to Curtis, whose shot hit off the right post, but Hannah Clough (1) was in perfect position for the putback to make the score 2-0. Leah Hibbad increased the margin to 3-0 in the 44th minute with a header that found the back of the net after the ball was misplayed by a Lyndon State (1-7-1, 0-4 NAC) defender on a corner kick.
Curtis (3) struck again in the 54th minute with an assist by Sydney Costa to make the difference four goals. The second goal by Hibbad (5) on Sunday came in the 59th minute off a Maddie Page assist. Boulier (6) concluded the scoring barrage in the 69th minute when she scored from six yards out.
"Allie does a really great job dribbling down the line and getting great crosses into the box," Curtis commented. "She has a beautiful shot, and with her being a lefty, it makes it hard for the opposing team to get a beat on her."
The Eagles outshot the Hornets 34-1 and held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
Kayla Gordon (4-3-1) made one save in 79:46 for the win. Jordyn Hopkins played the final 10:14 in net.
Johanna Sargent (1-7-1) tallied 10 saves in the loss.
Husson travels to Maine Maritime on Saturday, Oct. 10, for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
