Box Score 2 CASTINE, Maine - Husson split a pair of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matches Saturday inside Smith Gymnasium on the campus of Maine Maritime. Husson (7-14, 1-1 NAC) defeated Green Mountain (0-11, 0-1 NAC) 3-0 before losing to the Spartans 3-2.
Husson 3 - Green Mountain 0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-19)
Sarah Wilson grabbed a game-high 20 digs to lead the Husson Eagles past Green Mountain on Saturday after in North Atlantic Conference action at Maine Maritime Academy.
Husson grabbed a 25-12 first-set win. Green Mountain made things close in the second set, but Husson still came away with a narrow 25-23 win to take a 2-0 lead. Husson went on to grab the third set, claiming the NAC victory.
Bailey Cote added a team-leading six kills and 10 digs, while Kristen Atwood added five kills, and a team-high four service aces.
For Green Mountain, Hayley Loisel led the way with 10 digs, six kills and four service aces.
Castleton 3 - Husson 2 (23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 22-25, 15-7)
In an extremely tight match, the Spartans narrowly defeated the Eagles in five sets.
Amanda Chambersí double-double led the Spartans with 11 kills and 14 digs, while Brittany Brayman added 16 digs and Michaela Babineau had 18 assists.
Lindsay Chapman led the Eagles with 11 kills and 15 digs to grab the double-double. Kristen Atwood added 11 kills while, Sarah Wilson recorded 29 assists.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, October 6, when they host Bates College for a 7:00 pm game.
