Box Score Bangor, Maine - Husson University's field hockey team suffered a tough, 1-0, loss against in state rival Thomas College on Senior Day in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at Winkin Sports Complex for the first time since 2004. The Terriers end a 16 game losing streak to Eagles and Husson's 11 game winning streaking (including playoffs) against a league foe.
In the first half of play Husson (6-9, 4-1 NAC) and Thomas (8-8, 4-1 NAC) were at a stalemate until the 14:40 mark when Taylor Bergeron scored the lone goal of the game with an assist from her teammate Katie Taylor. Thomas would head into intermission with a lead of 1-0.
Husson came into the second half playing aggressively to try and put a goal on the board but Thomas' netminder Abbie Charrier stop each shot she faced in the half to record the first shutout of Husson since 1997.
Husson out shot Thomas 11-8, both teams had 6 shots on goal.
Charrier registered 6 saves in the win and Kaitlin Dolloff racked up 5 of her own in the loss.
