Box Score BANGOR, ME – The Husson University women's basketball team fell to Bowdoin College by the score of 81-51 on Tuesday evening at Newman Gymnasium. Husson falls to 8-6 on the year while Bowdoin improves to 16-2.
The Polar Bears shot 47.8 percent in the first 20 minutes and took a 31-18 lead at the half before going on a 16-to-3 run to open the second half. Bowdoin shot 63.3 percent in the second stanza to pull away from the Eagles.
Husson was only down 21-15 with five minutes left in the first half before Bowdoin finished the half on a 10-to-3 run and opened the second half on fire from the field.
Chandler Guerrette (Presque Isle, ME) scored 13 points while Victoria McIntyre (Mars Hill, ME) went 3-for-5 from long range en route to 12 points. Katy Brochu (Bangor, ME) went 4-of-7 from the field and finished with nine points.
Bowdoin, which is just outside the top-25 in the national rankings, was led by Sara Binkhorst who had 15 points and Emily Campbell who added 11. The Polar Bears won the rebounding battle 40-22 and shot 56.6 percent for the game to Husson's 38.6 percent.
Husson hosts Johnson State on Friday.
