Box Score LYNDONVILLE, VT – Husson University women's soccer (3-4; 1-1) battled back against Lyndon State (4-5; 0-2) for the 2-1 victory in a conference match at Lyndon Athletics Field on Saturday afternoon.
Both sides saw a strong defensive effort until the 53rd minute as Erika Lind gave the Hornets a 1-0 lead.
The Eagles Maddie Page (Hermon, ME) tied the game in the 62 minute. The defender registered her first career goal on the assist by Mollie Roy (Hermon, ME). Desir'ee Hamler (Franklin, NJ) notched the game-winning goal in the 86th minute of play. Katie Cyr (Hampden, ME) registered the assist on the game winner.
Jess Poulin (Albion, ME) made two saves as she improves to 2-2 on the season.
"We stepped it up big time in the second half today, and Maddie and Dez found the back of the net for us," said Husson head coach Carly Gettler of the win. "Overall, it was a pretty dominant performance from us, but a few mistakes put us in a tough spot for a bit. We're looking forward to moving on in conference play and continuing to improve."
Husson outshot Lyndon State 30-4. The Eagles return to action on Sunday for a 2:30pm game against Johnson State.
