Box Score LYNDONVILLE, VT – Husson University (5-3; 2-0) topped Lyndon State College (4-4; 0-2), 3-1, in a conference match at Lyndon Athletics Field Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles were dominant from the beginning as Phil Frost (Bangor, ME) tallied his fourth goal of the season in the 10th minute. Frost found the back of the net on the header attempt off the Josh Bean (Ellsworth, ME) throw in.
Saker Ghanayem (Orlando, FL) tallied his first career goal in the 46th minute of play. Matthew Millard (Woodland, ME) and Frost registered assists on the 2-0 goal.
Lyndon State cut the lead in half in the 67th minute as Eric Nelson found the back of the net, but Charles Bujambi (Democratic Republic of Congo) sealed the game for the Eagles in the 77th minute, registering his 1st goal of the season. Ghanayem registered the assist on the final goal.
Brian Potter (Waterville, ME) made five stops for the Eagles improving his record to 5-3. Jason Marks notched five saves for the Hornets and his record fell to 2-3.
Husson outshot Lyndon State 17-11. The Eagles return to the pitch on Sunday for a 12:00pm game against Johnson State.
