Henniker, NH - Stephen Berenyi (Levant, ME) scored two goals to lead the Husson University men's soccer team to the NAC Championship game with a 2-1 win over New England College on Tuesday evening. Husson is now 12-7 on the year while NEC goes to 11-6-1. 

Berenyi scored his first goal in the 26th minute with an assist from Phil Frost (Bangor, ME) who laid a perfect ball to Berenyi who buried it.

Manny Arteaga knotted the game at one in the 49th minute on a penalty kick for New England College before Berenyi notched the game winner in the 82nd minute as he took a brilliant corner kick that deflected off the goalie and in for the game winner.

Brian Potter (Waterville, ME) made five saves for Husson while Mark Nowak made four for New England College.     

"We fought hard for everything and played great on defense," said Husson head coach Jeff Gettler. "After they tied it we fought back to win. It was a great performance and NEC is a very good team and we had to raise our level of play."

Husson will host the NAC Championship game on Saturday against Thomas College for a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
