Bangor, ME – The #2 ranked Bowdoin College field hockey team scored three first half goals as the Polar Bears went on to beat Husson University by a score of 3-0 in non-conference play Wednesday night at the Winkin Sports Complex.

Adrienne O'Donnell registered the first goal for the Polar Bears as she took an assist from Kimmy Ganong at the 3:50 mark. Kimmy Ganong notched her second point of the contest, beating the Husson University goalkeeper at 15:02 with Rachel Kennedy registering the assist on the goal. Liz Znamierowski scored the third and final goal of the game at 34:16 as Kennedy picked up her second assist of the game. 

The second half saw strong defensive play by both sides. 

The Eagles registered two shots on goal while the Polar Bears registered 15. Bowdoin College saw a 25-1 advantage in penalty corners. Both teams had an even 44 fouls against.

Kaitlin Dolloff (Richmond, RI) registered 11 saves in the contest as she sees her record fall to 1-3 on the season.

Mikayla Toth (Skowhegan, ME) led the Eagles offensively with two shots in the game.

Husson's head coach Madeline Hoeppner said after the game, "We had a great second half. The defense really picked it up and played aggressively like they needed to. Our goalie Kaitlin Dolloff had an exceptional game in net. The first half was a bit of a struggle but the second half we definitely found our groove. Bowdoin is a great competitor and we found that this was a good challenge for us so we're happy to play a high ranked team." 

The Eagles move to 4-6 overall heading into a conference game on Saturday against University of Maine – Farmington at 12:00pm.
