Box Score BANGOR, ME – The Husson University women's soccer team blanked Thomas College 2-0 on Tuesday evening at Boucher Field. With the win, the Eagles improve to 7-4-0 overall and 4-1-0 in North Atlantic Conference play while Thomas falls to 5-8-0 and 2-3-0.
Taylor Fortin (Goffstown, NH) gave the Eagles the lead when she hit a free kick from 25 yards out into the upper left corner to beat the keeper in the 11th minute.
Leah Hibbad (Portsmouth, RI) gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead when she took a feed from Kirsten Wood (Madison, ME) and buried it in the right corner in the 20th minute.
The Husson defense never let up and goalkeeper Jess Poulin (Albion, ME) did not have to make a save to earn the shutout. Paige Leary made 17 saves in net for Thomas.
The Eagles outshot the Terriers 30-2.
"Our team put together another dominant performance today and we're happy with this result," said Husson head coach Carly Gettler. "We have a tough stretch coming up next, and I'm glad that we have good energy and chemistry heading into it."
Husson returns to action on Saturday at New England College for a 3 p.m. game.
