Box Score BANGOR, ME – Desir'ee Hamler (Franklin, NJ) notched a goal and Anna Wolterbeek (Wells, ME) made eight saves to lead the Husson University women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over UMaine-Presque Isle on Wednesday evening at Boucher Field. The Eagles improve to 11-7 on the year while the Owls fall to 3-11.
Leah Hibbad (Portsmouth, RI) gave the Eagles the lead less than one minute into the game Mollie Roy (Hermon, ME) found her and she dribbled down the right side. Hibbad blistered a shot from a tough angle that deflected off the goalie, hit the post and went in.
Hamler notched her goal in the 25th minute unassisted before Maddie Page (Hermon, ME) found Katey Curtis (Ellsworth, ME) in the 33rd minute to put the Eagles up 3-0 at half.
Brooke LaBelle (Ashland, ME) capped the scoring in the 81st minute.
Allison Lopez made 18 saves for the Owls as Husson outshot UMPI 38-11.
"Tonight's game was a great end to our regular season," said Husson head coach Carly Gettler. "Our goals were all quality finishes and we showed how deep our team is this year with quality minutes from our bench. We are very excited to move into the playoffs this weekend."
Hibbad finishes the regular season as the NAC's leading scorer with 14 goals and tied for the league-lead with 31 points. Husson goalkeeper Jess Poulin (Albion, ME) finished with a league-low 10 goals allowed.
The Eagles host Johnson State on Sunday at 1 p.m. in a NAC Tournament quarterfinal match.
