Box Score BANGOR, ME – The Husson University men's soccer team fell to nationally ranked Wheaton by the score of 2-0 on a windy day at Boucher Field. Husson's record goes to 8-7-0 on the year while Wheaton improves to 14-2-1.
Travis Blair scored in the 36th minute when he hit a shot from the top of the box and it deflected off a Husson defender just past the Eagles' keeper Brian Potter (Waterville, ME)
Amara Sesay hit a shot two minutes later that also deflected off a defender and went just over the reach of Potter.
Potter finished with 10 saves for Husson while Matt Dickey made four for Wheaton.
"I thought we had a good performance against a very good team," said Husson head coach Jeff Gettler. "It was unfortunate to have the two deflected shots go in, but it was one of our best performances and I think it bodes well for the rest of the conference schedule."
The Eagles return to the field on Saturday when they host Green Mountain at 3:30 p.m.
