Box Score BANGOR, ME - The Husson University field hockey team defeated Colby-Sawyer 2-0 on Saturday evening at the Winkin Sports Complex. With the win, Husson improved to 6-7 overall and 4-0 in NAC play while Colby-Sawyer falls to 7-8 and 1-3 in league play. Husson clinched the top seed for the NAC Tournament.
The Eagles got on the board in the ninth minute Libby Kain (Dexter, ME) took a pass from Mikayla Toth (Skowhegan, ME) and buried it in the back of the net.
Kerianne Downing (Dedham, MA) sealed the game in the 61st minute when she took a pass, went towards net and nailed a shot between the goalie's pads.
"The girls played a great game tonight," said Husson head coach Madeline Hoeppner. "It may not have gone as well as we hoped, but we saw a lot of good things. The girls were really able to connect with each other tonight."
Kaitlin Dolloff (Richmond, RI) made one save in net for Husson while Jodi Dumayne stopped 24 shots for Colby-Sawyer.
Husson returns to action at Bates on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
