Box Score Lyndon Center, VT — Lyndon continued its outstanding conference play of late by upsetting Husson University 92-84 Saturday at Stannard Gymnasium. The win improves the Hornets' record to 6-11 overall and 6-4 in the North Atlantic Conference while the loss puts the Eagles at 14-2 overall and hands them just their first loss (8-1) in league play.
JoJo Woodruff led Lyndon with 23 points, three assists and two steals and backcourt mate David Johnson added 22 points, two assists and two steals. George Carle recorded a double-double in the contest, collected 20 points and 12 rebounds to go along with three assists, one blocked shot and one steal.
Trevon Butler (Waterbury, CT) had 18 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals for Husson to record his second double-double of the weekend. Mike Gonzales (Fort Fairfield, MD) chipped in 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block, and Aaron Willis (New York, NY) had 15 points in the loss. Dan Fleming (Fairfield, ME) had 12 points and five rebounds.
Coach Warren Caruso said, "This was a difficult week for us. Lyndon was more ready to play than we were today. We need to take the week to refocus our efforts at the defensive end of the floor."
Husson will look to get back on track as they host Castleton next Friday at Newman Gym.
