Bangor, ME -  Husson field hockey reeled off 68 shots, a new single-game school record, to defeat Rivier College Sunday at the Winkin Complex 6-0. Sarah Eastman and Sabrina Vaillancourt each had two goals for the Eagles in the win.

Sarah Eastman opened up the scoring for Husson, collecting a pass from Sabrina Vaillancourt and put the goal past Rivier goalie Makenzie Flagg. Just six minutes later Vaillancourt scored a goal of her own by way of Mariah Arno to the extend the Eagle lead to 2-0.

In the 27th minute Eastman scored her second goal of the game as she received a pass from Lindsey Arno to cage Husson's third goal. Then, Taylor Lovely scored in the 34th with an assist from Mariah Arno to make it 4-0 Husson at the half.

Mariah Arno finally picked up a goal of her of her own in the second half, scoring 10:39 into the frame. Sabrina Vaillancourt picked up the assist on the Arno goal and then added her second of the day in the 51st to make it 6-0 Husson.

Out of the 68 shots that Husson managed on the afternoon, 41 came in the second half while 40 overall were put on goal. Flagg made 34 saves on the 40 shots on cage for the Raiders.

Rivier's only shot on the day came from Brittani Garza in the final moments of the game, forcing Kaitlin Dolloff to make her only save on the day for the Eagles.

"It was nice to get our third conference win at home," head coach Jen Johnstone said after the game. "Our girls played so well and really recognized open passing lanes and we took advantage of scoring opportunities in transition. Our seniors did a tremendous job at performing today."

With the win Husson improves to 6-2 on the season, 3-0 in the North Atlantic Conference, while Rivier falls to 3-7 and 0-3 in the NAC.

Husson plays once again at home at the Winkin Complex on Wednesday, October 2nd against Colby at 7:00pm.
