Box Score 2 Lakeland, FL – Husson baseball lost both games of a doubleheader to St. Norbert College on Friday, ending their trip to the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.
Game 1:
The Eagles could not come back on the early lead established by the Green Knights, falling 6-1. Brandon Gendreau (Brewer, ME) batted in the lone run for Husson in the bottom of the 7th inning on a double.
Pat McEwen (Brewer, ME) got the loss for Husson going 4 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 earned runs, while striking out 4 batters. Pat Thibodeau (Caribou, ME) and Dylan Foster (Oakland, ME) had stolen bases for the Eagles.
Honzik earned the win for St. Norbert. Larsen had 2 doubles and 2 RBI on the afternoon.
Game 2:
The Eagles jumped out to an early start in the top of the 1st leading 2-0, but the Green Knights charged back scoring in the next four innings, winning 8-3.
Pat Thibodeau, Shawn Smith (Winterport, ME) and Josh Gaudette (Waterville, ME) all went 4-2 on the day, Thibodeau adding 2 RBI, Gaudette getting the other, while Smith had the only stolen base in the game for the Eagles.
Kyle Bishop (Waterville, ME) got the loss for the Eagles, going 2.2 innings, striking out 2.
Larsen, Thissnhsen and Dagneau added RBI for the Green Knights, while Godinez, Mason, Larsen and Wilson had stole bases. Nohr earned the win for St. Norbert going 6 innings, striking out 3.
With this final day of RussMatt Central Florida Invitational action the Eagles fall to 2-5 overall, and will next host the University of Maine at Presque Isle for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 23rd at 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM.
