Lyndonville, VT – Husson women's basketball fell to Lyndon State Saturday afternoon, 74-70.

In a closely battled game Husson chipped away at the early lead Lyndon established, briefly holding the lead 22-20 with 6:31 remaining in the first half. The Hornets fought back and entered the half leading 41-35.

Husson narrowed the lead down to 70-72 after two Stephanie Comstock (Bangor, ME) free throws, but Donna Lawson sank her two free throws to secure the lead and the win.

Comstock had a huge game off the bench scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Kelli Murray (Shawmut, ME) had 16 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals for the Eagles.

Lawson had 29 points for the Hornets, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 assists. Chelsea Watson and Aimee Thompson both added 10 points.

With this loss the Eagles fall to 8-16 overall, 8-10 in the North Atlantic Conference. Husson has clinched a spot in the upcoming conference tournament and will await final pairings for opponent and seeding for the upcoming game, that news should be available later this evening.
