Box Score New London, NH – Husson men's soccer played to a tie with North Atlantic Conference opponent Colby-Sawyer College Saturday afternoon 1-1.
Husson jumped on the board early when their throw in was deflected into the goal by a Charger defender, for the own goal.
The Chargers found the correct net in the 34th minute when Isaac Nichols grabbed his third goal of the season on a pass from Zach Anderson to even the match at 1-1.
The game would go scoreless from there with each team getting scoring opportunities but not capitalizing on the extra 20 minutes of play.
"We went ahead in the game and it was a pretty gritty performance for us with a number of guys banged up. The guys did a great job, in an away game, finishing with just one loss in the league. I thought our performance was tremendous with what we had to overcome," said Head Coach Jeff Gettler, "I'm very happy with how we're finishing up the regular season and by making the playoffs. We will see where the draw is and what we have to do next, all the credit goes to the guys today for getting the tie with Colby-Sawyer."
Husson is now 5-6-4 on the season overall and 5-1-3 in the NAC. The Eagles will host the Raiders of Rivier College Tuesday, October 29th in their final regular season game of the 2013 season, a game in which they will honor their three seniors; Mike Desmond (Scituate, MA), Chris DelGiudice(Oakland,ME), and Jay Cuttle (Kittery, ME).
