Box Score Waterville, ME – Men's soccer fell to North Atlantic Conference rival Thomas College 4-0 Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles, who fell to the Terriers in last season's NAC Championship, were unable to find any momentum and beat Terrier goaltender Mikkail Crockwell who played the first 74 minutes in net for the Thomas before turning the net over to Winston Trott for the final 16 minutes.
Dakota Duplissie initated the offense for the Terriers, scoring the first goal of the game in the 9th minute, on a pass from Joshua Phelps. Duplissie then set up teammate Tre Ming to put Thomas ahead 2-0.
Just before the half Kristian Pettersson edged the Terriers to a 3-0 lead on a pass from Kenny Cano.
The Eagles defense held off the Terriers in the 2nd half until the 73 minute when Phelps beat Potter to set up the 4th and final goal of the game for Mikal Simmons.
Husson landed were only able to land 4 of their 8 shots on goal.
Eagle keeper Brian Potter (Waterville, ME) stopped 8 shots.
The Eagles fall to 5-6-3 overall and 5-1-2 in the NAC. Thomas improves to 7-6-1 overall and 4-2 in the conference.
With the loss Husson holds on to a 28-22-1 series lead over the Terriers. Today's match-up marks the 51st game between the two schools.
