Waterville, ME - The Husson Men's Basketball team picked up a big North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win against conference foe Thomas College Tuesday night in Waterville. The Eagles used 14-point performances from both Eric Modica and Phil Leighton and a ten-point effort from forward Brooks Spaulding.

Husson opened the game on a 7-2 run and three minutes later the Terriers tied the game and then took a one point lead on a Garen Manzo three, quickly followed by a Husson three of their own courtesy of Wes Murphy. Husson would hold a lead for the remainder of the game.

The first half ended and the second half began with decent runs from the Eagles, closing the first half on an 18-9 run to take a 39-26 lead at the break. The second half started much in the same way has the Green and Gold mustered a 17-10 run in the first 5:15 to push their lead to 20.

Husson saw 11 players in all score points to earn the win, shooting almost 51% for the game, over 35% from the charity stripe and 64% from the free throw line. Thomas shot almost 37% for the game, an impressive 43.5% from three point land and 60% from the line.

The Terriers were led by Franklin Salvador who poured in 16 points and grabbed three boards in the losing effort along with 14 points from Levi Barnes.

"We had a lot of different guys contribute tonight," head coach Warrent Caruso said after the win. "This was a good team victory on the road. We have made some good progress over the past week but still have a lot of work to do."

The Eagles will be back in action at home for the first time in 2013 this Friday vs. Lyndon State College.
