Eagles Fall to Farmington on the Road; Now 7-2 in the NAC

Box Score

Farmington, ME - Phil Leighton scored 17 points in 25 minutes off the bench for Husson in a losing effort to the Beavers of Farmington Thursday night. The Eagles shot almost 39% from three-point land on 10 of 26 attempts beyond the arc in the loss.

Husson held only two leads in the first half, as Donte Cottonham hit two straight threes for the Eagles to pull ahead 16-15 and 19-17 moments later.

Yusuf Iman and Ben Johnson proved to be the difference for Farmington. Iman had a game-high 18 points with three steals and three assists while Johnson netted 14 points of his own and pulled down eight rebounds with three blocked shots.

Husson was outmatched in nearly every category, including all three shooting percentages, total rebounds, assists and blocks.

A loud home crowd helped the Beavers to the win, as Husson struggled to maintain runs to secure a lead in hopes of keeping the lone #1 spot in the North Atlantic Conference men's basketball standings.

Husson, fortunately, has a quick turnover as they return to Newman Gymnasium this Saturday for a 1:00pm showdown with rival Thomas College.
