Box Score Waterville, ME - Husson managed a single goal in non-conference action vs. Colby College Sunday, falling to the Mules by a final of 7-1. The Eagles lone tally was set up by Sabrina Vaillancourt and put away by Melissa Souza in the 32nd minute, her second of the year.
Erin Maguire of Colby made her presence known early, scoring the first three goals of the game for her squad in the 12th, 13th and 26th minutes of play. Adding assists for the Mules were Lucy Gerrity, Caroline Keaveney and Erika Johnson. Megan Fortier scored the finall stroke for the home team in the half pushing the score to 4-0.
Vaillancourt would set up Souza a minute and a half later as Husson cut the Mule lead to 4-1 going into halftime.
Fortier and Lauren Zion scored goals of their own within the first 10 minutes of the second half, both of which unassisted. Catlin Gulney caged the final point of the night for the Mules in the 61st minute, assisted by Caroline Chessare.
Husson goalie Maicee Gustin stoped five of the 12 shots she saw on the afternoon, playing all 70 minutes Colby keeper Michelle Burt had three saves on the four shots she faced.
The Eagles will host St. Joseph's College of Standish, Maine this Wednesday evening at the Winkin Complex for a 6:00pm conference matchup.
