Field Hockey Loses 4-0 to Bowdoin

Box Score

Bangor, ME - Husson University fell to Bowdoin College Wednesday night, in the Eagles' second contest against a nationally ranked opponent in over a week. Husson was anchored by first year goalkeeper Maicee Gustin who recorded 13 saves on the game in the loss.

The Polar Bear attack was powered by Cathleen Smith who had two goals on eight shots, seven of which were on cage. Rachel Kennedy tallied the other two scores for Bowdoin who reeled off 32 total shots with 17 on goal.

The Eagles managed a much better second half as Sabrina Vaillancourt, Kayla Grindle and Kara Poirier all managed shots, with Grindle's on target.

"I'm so proud of the total team effort we put forward tonight against a team like Bowdoin who is ranked fifth in the country," said head coach Jen Johnstone. "Every year we continue to close the gap which shows how hard our athletes are working to compete at the next level."

Husson looks to get back to their winning ways as they return to the Winkin Complex this Saturday evening to take on Lasell at 6:00pm.
