Murray Continues Hot Streak; Leads Husson to NAC Victory

Bangor, ME – Husson University Eagles held off a late rally by the Johnson State Badgers at Newman Gymnasium in a North Atlantic Conference women's basketball action tonight.  The Eagles improve to 14-10 overall and a 14-3 North Atlantic Conference Record, while the Badgers fall to 4-20 overall and a 2-15 North Atlantic Conference Record. 

Kelli Murray totaled 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists to help lead the Eagles, while Brianna Hanscom and Stephanie Comstock chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively.  Amanda Gifford also added 13 points and a pair of defensive rebounds to seal the victory.  The Eagles got off to a slow but aggressive start, applying pressure to the shallow bench of the Badgers forcing 19 turnovers. 

Johnson State's Andrea Deuell tallied a game high 30 points, while adding 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists to her impressive point total.  Brittany Robertson added a respective 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.  

The Eagles return to the court tomorrow afternoon for a 1:00pm; their Play 4Kay game against North Atlantic Conference opponent Lyndon State on Senior Day.  Johnson State travels to Maine Maritime to take on the 12-12 Lady Mariners.
