Box Score Bangor, ME- Husson University fell to Bates College Wednesday evening, losing 2-0 at Boucher Field.
Husson was able to suppress the shots from Bates until the 27th minute when Sophomore Krista Prouty put a ball in net, just past the outstretched fingers of Husson goalkeeper Sophomore Jess Poulin (Albion, ME). Prouty's fancy footwork earned her the edge around her defender and she was able to dribble the ball into the net unassisted.
It wasn't until the final minute of the game that the Bobcats struck again when Junior Jaimie Cappucci scored off a pass from Junior Julia Rafferty.
Husson had its best scoring chance on a shot by Junior Kelsey Brangiel (Newmarket, NH) with just 16 seconds remaining in the game.
Poulin had 13 saves keeping Husson in the game. One of the more notable stops came in the 58th minute when she laid out to stop a laser of a shot from Cappucci.
With the loss the Eagles become 4-9 on the season (4-0 in NAC) and will move forward to face New England College in Henniker, NH on Saturday, October 6 at 1:00PM.
