Bangor, ME - Husson field hockey beat Colby-Sawyer 4-3 in a back-and-forth conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at the Winkin Complex. The victory brings Husson to 9-7 on the season (7-1 in the NAC) and second place in the NAC. Colby-Sawyer falls to 5-8 overall (1-6 in the NAC, 8th place).

Junior Sabrina Vaillancourt (Newport, ME) scored her 16th goal of the season to get Husson on the board in the fourth minute of the contest, but the Chargers quickly answered with a seventh minute goal by Nichole Danehy. The score remained tied for the rest of the half, despite Husson's 19 shots to Colby-Sawyer's 5.

Vaillancourt struck again in the 41st and 44th minute, to bring the Eagles to a 2 goal lead and her season scoring total to 18 goals. Mariah Arno (Dover-Foxcroft, ME) and Kara Poirier (Berlin, NH) were credited with the assists on these goals, and Poirier added another assist, her seventh of the season, on a 48th minute goal by sophomore Chrissy Larrabee (Brooks, ME).

Colby-Sawyer kept fighting until the end, getting two late goals in the game's 68th and 70th minutes by Cassandra McAlister and Rebecca Perley. The late goals weren't enough for the Chargers, as the Eagles came out on top, 4-3.

Jodi Dumayne made 10 saves for the Chargers in the loss, while Maicee Gustin (Dexter, ME) and Chelsea Kondratowicz (Kingston, NY) each recorded two saves for the Eagles' win. The Eagles put on their pink to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Husson will honor its seniors in the team's final regular season game, as they host Castleton State at 1:00 PM in a battle for first place in the North Atlantic Conference.
