Bangor, ME - The Husson Volleyball team won their 4th straight match, defeating the Huskies of the University of Southern Maine 3-0 (25-12, 25-6, 25-13) at the Newman Gymnasium.

The Eagles were led by North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Week Hannah Olstad (Farmington, NH) who showed the versatility in her game as the Husson kill-leader tallied 14 service aces in the match. The top Eagle in kills was Kelsey Burrill (Somersworth, NH), recording 7 to go along with her 6 aces. Aleta Johnson (Milton, NH) continued her impressive work as the team's setter this season, assisting 14 Husson kills. 

Hannah Patterson (Londonderry, NH) led the Huskies with 5 blocks, to go along with 5 digs and a pair of kills. Madalyn Terry (Kennebunkport, ME) served up 4 aces in the losing effort. 

The match started in USM's favor as they jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in the first game, but the Eagles found their groove mid-way through the game and fought back to tie, and ride that momentum to the Game 1 win. In Game 2, Husson continued their success, especially on the defensive end, holding the Huskies without a kill in the game. The Eagles picked up steam in the third and final game, recording their highest kill total of the night, topping USM 12-3 in that category. 

Husson kicks off NAC play this weekend, when they travel to Castine, ME to play 2 matches at Maine Maritime Academy. The Eagles will play Green Mountain at 12:30 pm and Castleton State at 2:00 pm on Saturday. USM will travel to Salem State on Saturday as they begin Little East Conference play, taking on Curry College at noon, and the host Vikings at 2:00 pm.
