(February 4, 2011) – Husson University ran out to a 45-23 halftime lead en route to an 84-52 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) road women's basketball victory on Friday night at Carter Gym over Johnson State College. With the win the Eagles move to 9-10 overall and 7-1 in the NAC while Johnson falls to 4-14 overall, 0-8 NAC.
Husson forced 31 Johnson State turnovers on the night and shot 10-of-25 from the 3-point line in the victory.
Junior Marissa Albert (Fort Kent, Maine) scored all 13 of her points in the first half to key the surge to the lead. Senior Bethany Sevey (Skowhegan, Maine) led Husson with 16 points on the night while Amanda Gifford (Lee, Maine) chipped in with 12 points and Noelle Lincoln (Dixmont, Maine) added 11.
Johnson was led by junior Andrea Deuell (Milton, Vt.) who scored a game-high of 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Sophomore Jen Ferrari (Westfield, Mass.) scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Husson moves on to play at Lyndon State College on Saturday, at 4:00 pm.
