Frost Nets Winner In 105th Minute

Bangor, ME – Husson Men's Soccer used a extraordinary save from goalie Brian Potter late in overtime as the Eagles turned in transition and Philip Frost scored the winning goal in the 105th minute. Frost went up over his defender off a ball from Trevor Higgins and headed it into the goal for the win in the first true night game at John P. Boucher Field.

Seven cards were awarded during the game as tension was high from the opening touch. The Eagles totaled 15 shots, six of which on net and the Pilgrims 12 shots with five on target. Potter made five saves, the most important of which was the turning point in overtime. Aaron Kolb fired from 25 yards out on the right side challenging Potter to the best of his ability. Potter, took one step to his right and leapt to make the outstanding save. Potter's counterpart Robert Millard made five saves as well for the Pilgrims.

The Eagles quickly turned in transition using a punt from Potter and stunned NEC only moments later after the as Higgins put the ball in the air in front of the net and Frost headed it into the goal for the win. The Husson bench errupted in jubilation and the large Husson crowd that gathered at Boucher Field went home happy.

With the win Husson improves to 7-4-1 on the year and 5-0 in the NAC as New England College falls to 5-7-1 and 1-3-1 in NAC play.

The Eagles will hit the pitch again in Lewiston Wednesday October 12, against Bates College at 4pm.
