Box Score Waterville, ME - Kate Pleasants (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with 32 assists and nine services to lift the Colby College volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Husson University and end the Eagles' six-match winning streak on Wednesday at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
The Mules improve to 6-7 overall and 5-1 in home matches this season, while Husson drops to 14-4 overall. Colby won by scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-15.
Senior co-captain Mackie Sewall (Santa Barbara, CA) finished with a match-high 12 kills, while felllow senior co-captain Caitlin Burchill had eight kills. Lily Kramlich-Taylor (Sacramento, CA) added six kills, Kate Bellerose (West Newton, MA) finished with five kills, Maggie Taylor (Cabin John, MD) had nine defensive digs and a pair of aces, and Emily Varni (Manhattan Beach, CA) had three aces and six digs.
Hannah Olstad (Farmington, NH) led Husson with five kills, two blocks, and two aces. Aleta Johnson (MIlton, NH) added 12 assists and two digs, while Justine Walicki (Plainville, CT) finished with five digs.
Husson heads to Maine-Farmington for a 10:00 am match against the Beavers Saturday and then takes on Colby-Sawyer College later in the day at 2:00 pm. Meanwhile, Colby heads to Williams College for two New England Small College Athletic Conference matches on Saturday. The Mules take on Hamilton College at 11:00 am and then play the host school at 1:30 pm.
