Box Score Bangor, ME - The Husson Women's Volleyball team had the offense rolling on all cylinders in their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) quarterfinal match in Newman Gymnasium. The Eagles won 3-0, winning the first game 25-11, the second 25-15, and then closing out the match with a 25-6 victory. With the win, the Eagles advance to the semifinals, while the Hornets finish their 2011 season with a 6-15 record.
The Eagles were led by Kelsy Burrill (Somersworth, NH) who scored an impressive 11 aces to o along with her 5 kills. Chelly Smith (New Boston, NH) led Husson with 7 kills, while Aleta Johnson (Milton, NH) added 5 aces to her 19 assists on the day. Rachel Voicechovski (Westerly, RI) had 6 digs in defense for the Eagles.
Hornet Outside Hitter Maegan Fried (Great Falls, MT) led the visitors in nearly every statistical category, adding 3 kills and 2 aces - both to lead the team - while Morgan Diltz (Moultonboro, NH) had 5 digs to go with her pair of aces.
Husson returns to action on Friday, November 2nd at Colby-Sawyer as the top seeded Chargers will host both of the semifinal matches as well as the final on Saturday.
