Box Score January 31, 2011, Waterville, Maine – Husson University (14-4, 7-0 NAC) came to Thomas (8-9, 4-4 NAC) this evening to keep their conference record perfect. With both teams playing hard throughout the game, the Eagles would hold off a strong Thomas run in the second half to win, 94-87.
The first half saw Husson take the lead into the locker room behind 11 points from Jay Uhrin and 10 from Daeshawn McMorrin. The Terriers had a hard time making baskets only shooting 2-11 on three-point shots.
In the second half, both teams put on a great showcase for a packed house at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium. Thomas made a late half run to get within five points with only minutes remaining. The Eagles showed great composure holding off tough a tough full-court press by the Terriers but the Husson offense was too overpowering for Thomas to get any closer.
Fresh off Andrew Duncanson's (Portland, Maine) NAC Co-Player of the Week Honors, the senior dropped a game high 29 points and recorded five steals and five assists. Jarrad DeVaughn (Brockton, Mass.) had a solid game as well scoring 17 points and grabbing six rebounds.
Franklin Salvador (Somerville, Mass.) came off the bench for Thomas to score 12 points, all three point baskets (4-7 3PT).
Josh Jones finished with a team high 28 points and 12 rebounds for Husson who had five players finish in double figures.
Husson will hit the road next weekend to Vermont to take on Johnson State on Februrary 4th and Lyndon State February 5th.
