FARMINGTON, Maine -- Jay Uhrin (Hampden, Maine) tallied a career-high 29 points as Husson University notched an 86-76 win over the University of Maine at Farmington in North Atlantic Conference men's basketball action this afternoon at Dearborn Gymnasium.

The Eagles (12-4) remained undefeated in NAC play at 6-0 with a trip to Waterville to face Thomas College Monday.

Eric Taylor (Farmington, Maine) scored 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in the loss, while Pet Sumner (Cramerton, N.C.) contributed 21 points off the bench, including four 3-pointers. Ben Johnson (Manchester, Maine) added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Beavers with Andrew Dean (Gorham, Maine) chipping in nine points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Uhrin knocked down three 3-pointers and went 8 for 10 from the foul line in his performance for the Eagles. Josh Jones (Jefferson, Maine) tallied 22 points and yanked down nine rebounds for Husson. Jones netted 14 points in the first 10 minutes of the contest, while Uhrin scored 18 points in the second half to help Husson close out the win. Brad Libby (Brewer, Maine) scored 13 points off the bench, while Luis Medina (Hartford, Conn.) handed out six assists.

On the back of Jones, the Eagles led 22-17 after the first 10:45 off the contest and three free throws and a 3-point make by Libby helped Husson to a 28-19 lead with 7:01 until halftime. Libby hit a pair of free throws to put the visitors up 32-21 with 5:37 left, but Farmington scored the next six straight points to keep it close and trailed 41-36 at intermission.

Jones went 8 of 10 from the foul line and Libby was 7 of 7 as the Eagles made 84.4 percent (27-32) of their free throws. From the field, Farmington shot 50.9 percent (29-57), while Husson was 38.8 percent (26-67).

After a Taylor layup to open the second half, Uhrin scored five points as the Eagles used a 9-4 stretch to expand their advantage to 50-40 with 16:09 left in the game. The Beavers were able to get back into the game with a Sumner trey with 12:34 remaining cutting the deficit to 55-51. On the next trip, Libby answered with a 3-pointer to push the advantage beyond two possessions.

Johnson scored to get Farmington to 64-58 with 7:36 to play, but an 8-1 run for the Eagles highlighted by Medina's only points, a hoop-and-harm, and another Uhrin three gave Husson control at 72-59 with 3:23 left in the game. The Beavers were only able to crack the double-digit barrier in the waning moments as Husson went on to grab the 86-76 win
