Box Score LEWISTON, Maine -- Sophomore Riley Kundtz's first collegiate
goal stood up as the only score in the game as Husson University
fell to Bates College 1-0. With the loss, Husson drops to
2-3, while Bates raises its mark to 1-3.
Kundtz (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) knocked in a pass from senior Sema
Kazarian (Providence, R.I.) with 7:55 left in the first half to
break a scoreless tie. The Bobcats supplied all the defense they
needed the rest of the way, including a total of eight saves by
senior goalkeeper Katie McEnroe (Hockessin, Del.). Husson didn't
register any penalty corners in the second half after getting six
in the first period, and Bates had a 22-16 advantage in shots
taken.
Sophomore goalie Kristen Capen (Leeds, Maine) also recorded eight
saves for Husson. Junior forward Kajsa Blindow (Morgan, Vt.)
attempted nine of Husson's 16 shots in the game.
Husson hosts St. Joseph's on Saturday at 1 p.m.
