Box Score The Husson University Eagles tallied a 3-2 victory against the
U. Maine Farmington Beavers at Husson's Winkin Complex.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 2-2 while the Beavers
fall to 3-1 on the season.
Husson reached the scoreboard 8:48 into the first half when
Kajsa Blindow (Jr., Morgan, VT) assisted Skye Ellis (Sr., Belfast,
ME) for a 1-0 lead.
At the 24:56 mark in the first half, Lorri Hiltz (Jr.,
Norridgewock, ME) passed a ball through the Beavers' box to a
waiting Courtney Allen (Sr., Gardiner, ME) who hit a one-time goal
for the Husson's second score of the game. At the 24:56

With seconds remaining in the half, U. Maine Farmington's
Amanda Wiley (Fy., Bethel, ME) had a breakaway scoring opportunity
that was shut down when Husson's Kristen Capen (So., Leeds,
ME) came off her line to kick the ball away.
At the end of the first half, the Beavers trailed the Eagles
2-0. Husson recorded nine shots on goal while U. Maine
Farmington tallied four.
Four minutes into the second half, Hiltz scored off a short
corner to push the Eagles' lead to 3-0. Following the
goal, the Beavers intensified their efforts and reached the
scoreboard with nine minutes left in the half. Annie Agnew
(So., Guilford, ME) scored off a corner when Samantha Webster (Jr.,
Dixfield, ME) fed her a ball in front of the Husson goal.
Agnew buried the ball into the back of the cage to bring the score
to 3-1.
After numerous U. Maine Farmington corners, the Beavers posted
another goal with just 1:30 left in the game off a corner.
Lilly Barry (Fy., Hermon, ME) received a diagonal pass from Emma
Deans (Sr., Gorham, ME) in front of the Husson cage. Barry
drove a far post shot into the goal to give the Beavers their
second goal of the day, trailing the Eagles 3-2. U. Maine
Farmington fought until the waning seconds but the Eagles preserved
the win.
The second half featured 14 shots by U. Maine Farmington and 12
Husson. Sarah Brown (Sr., Windham, ME) made 10 saves on the
loss for the Beavers, while Husson's Capen tallied 9
saves.
The Beavers travel to Thomas on September 22 for a 4:00 PM
game. Husson returns to action on September 21 when the
Eagles travel to Bates for a 5:00 PM contest.
