Castine, Maine --- The Husson University Men's basketball team took an 11-point halftime lead and extended it to 25 late in the second half beating Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday 68-43 in the conference match up. With the win the Eagles improve to 13-8 overall and 7-3 in the NAC while the Mariners drop to 5-16 overall and 7-3 in the NAC.

The Eagles played great defense throughout the contest limiting MMA to 43 points and 25.8% shooting.  MMA was 2-for-20 from beyond the arc and just 16-for-62 from the floor. Husson outrebounded the Mariners 57-29.

Freshman Eric Modica (Kittery, ME) led the visitors with 20 points and 11 rebounds in just 13 minutes of action. Jay Uhrin (Winterport, ME) pitched in with 11 points on the night while Matt MacKenzie (Warren, ME) had 10 points.

Tyler Pineo (Corinth, ME) led the Mariners with 10 points despite going 4-for-19 from the floor. Shawn Dostie (Bowdoinham, ME) chipped in with nine points and 11 rebounds while Ben Russell (Farmington, ME) had a game high five assists.
