- Visiting Husson University ran past host Johnson
State College 99-58 in North Atlantic Conference women's basketball
play on Saturday at Carter Gym. The Eagles remain undefeated
in NAC play with an 11-0 record and are 14-8 overall while the
Badgers fall to 7-16 overall and 4-8 in NAC action.
Twelve different players scored for Eagles led by
Brianna Hanscom's (Mattawamkeag, Maine) 20 points
and seven rebounds. Shelby Bradford (Lee,
Maine) tossed in 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds,
Bethany Sevey (Skowhegan, Maine) added 11 points
and Amanda Gifford (Lee, Maine) scored 10 in the
win for Husson.
Johnson received 20 points from Maria Gleason (Enosburg
Falls, Vt./Enosburg) while Claudia Martineau
(Washington, Vt./Spaulding) added 12 points and grabbed
seven rebounds.
Johnson will travel to Maine for a set of games to complete
their regular season on Friday at the University of
Maine-Farmington at 5:30 pm and then at Thomas College at 2 pm on
Saturday. Husson will host a pair of games on the same days
against Green Mountain and Castleton respectively.
