scored 1:01 into overtime to lift Husson University to a 1-0 win
over University of Maine at Farmington in North Atlantic Conference
field hockey action this afternoon at Prescott Field.

NAC) and await the NAC postseason seedings. Playoffs are scheduled
to begin Oct. 30. The Eagles finished out their regular season at
8-5 (6-1).
Vaillancourt tapped in a cross by Jillian Morin (Manchester,
Maine) give Husson its second win over the Beavers this season. The
Eagles defeated Farmington 3-2 in non-conference play in Bangor on
Sept. 19.
The two teams stood even throughout the contest with the Beavers
holding an 18-15 advantage in shots, while the Eagles took 12
penalty corners to Farmington's 10.
Farmington's Sara Lane (Hiram, Maine) deflected an Emma Deans
(Gorham, Maine) hit toward goal in the opening half, but Husson
goalkeeper Kristen Capen (Leeds, Maine) was able to make the
stop.
The Eagles took 10 penalty corners in the second half, but were
unable to find a goal. The Beavers' best bid came on a Lily Barry
(Hermon, Maine) shot with under 10 minutes to play. The shot got
past Capen, but Helen Berry (Belfast, Maine) cleared it before it
could get past the cage.
Husson held the attack in the brief extra session with Farmington
goalkeeper Sarah Brown (Windham, Maine) snubbing Vaillancourt
before the freshman came back with the game-winner to help Husson
to the 1-0 NAC victory.
Brown stopped 12 shots in the loss.
Capen finished with 13 saves for Husson.
