Box Score Bangor, ME – Bates College downed Husson University 3-0 in
a non-conference match at Husson's Boucher Field.
Patrick Jackson (Sr., Durham ,NH) lead the Bobcats to victory by
factoring into every goal, with one goal and two assists on the
win. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 3-12 while the Bobcats
improve to 4-7-1.
In an evenly matched half with numerous scoring chances for both
teams, Bates reached the scoreboard first. Patrick Jackson
hit an arching pass to Ethan Hirshberg (So., Concord, NH) who
one-timed the ball into the upper right quadrant of the goal with
just under five minutes remaining in the first half.
Bates scored their second goal of the game when Tyler Dewdney
(Sr., Meriden, NH) passed a ball to a waiting Jackson at the top of
the Husson goal box. Jackson took a few touches and scored
off a shot to the keeper's lower left at the 51:56 minute
mark. Ryan March (So., Concord, NH) closed out the
Bobcats' scoring with a near post goal that was assisted by
Jackson.
Bates outshot husson 24-12 in the game. Goalkeeper Greg Watts
tallied three saves and Brian Goldberg recorded one save on the
win. For Husson, Mason Smith recorded seven saves in
goal.
Bates returns to action on October 23 when they travel to
Middlebury. Husson travels to Thomas College on October 23
for a 3:00 PM North Atlantic Conference contest
