Box Score The Husson University Eagles lost to the Colby College Mules
58-88 in a non-conference match-up. With the loss, Husson
falls to 3-8. Colby's Alison Cappelloni (Sudbury, Mass.),
collected her 1,000th point.
Colby's Rachael Mack (Augusta, Maine) had her best game of the
season with 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting, six rebounds, five
blocked shots, and three assists. Aarika Ritchie (Lee, Maine)
chipped in 10 points and dished five assists, while Jil Vaughan
(Wareham, Mass.) had nine points and five boards. Samantha Allen
(Bridgton, Maine) had a fine all-around game with eight points,
seven rebounds, and five assists. Julianne Kowalski (Montville,
N.J.) had eight points and six rebounds, while Diana Manduca
(Portland, Maine) had eight points.
Shelby Bradford (Lee, Maine) had a game-high 21 points on
9-for-16 shooting and eight rebounds to pace Husson (3-8). Bethany
Sevey (Skowhegan, Maine) added 12 points, while Kelli Murray
(Shawmut, Maine) and Brianna Hanscom (Mattawamkeag, Maine) both had
nine points.
Colby only led 25-24 after Murray nailed a jumper for Husson
with 5:23 left in the first half. The Mules, though, used a 14-3
run to end the half in taking a 39-27 margin into the break. Colby
quickly pulled away in the second half and wore down Husson with
its size.
The Eagles return to action on January 12 at Thomas
College. Game time is set for 7:30 PM.
