Bangor, Maine - The Eagles won their 10th straight
with a 91-71 win over Lyndon State in NAC contest at Newman
Gym. Shelby Bradford (Jr, Lee) scored her 1000th
career point on her way to 26 points and 14 rebounds. She
recorded a score record 15th double double on the
season. Husson honored their three seniors prior to the
start of the game; Laura Archer (Ellsworth, ME), Jenny Rollins
(Corinth, ME) and Michelle Barden (Newport, ME)
Husson jumped out to an early 16-6 led in the first 5 minutes to
play. Bree Hanscom (FY, Mattawamkeag, ME) had 10 first half
points to pace the Eagles to a 48-35 halftime lead. Hanscom
finished the game with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Eagles opened up a 17 points led early in the second
half. Bradford jumper from the baseline made it 54-37 with
18:07 to play. Over the next nine minutes, Lyndon State put
together a 17-5 run to close the gap to 59-54 with 9:25 left.
Jackie Wetzel (Sr, Braintree, MA) two foul shots capped off the
run.
Husson answered with a 9-0 run over the next two minutes to
regain control of the game. Rollins finished with 12 points,
including 2-4 from behind the arch. The Eagles dominated the
glass finishing with 22 offensive rebounds and a margin of 53-29
overall. Bradford scored her 1000th career point
with just :40 remaining off an offensive rebound and put
back.
Lyndon was paced by Wetzel who finished with 18 points while Jen
Stoddard-Imari (Sr, Danville, VT) added 14 points and 10
rebounds. Elizabeth Hall (Sr, Newport, NH) chipped in 15
points.
Husson stays a top the NAC with a 11-1 NAC mark and moves to
15-7 overall. Lyndon falls to 8-14 (4-8 NAC).
