Bangor, Maine - The Eagles won for the 8th time in
their last 9 outings with a 95-74 win over Lyndon State College in
NAC play at Newman Gym. Matt MacKenzie registered a career
high 28 points to lead Husson to the win. Husson
honored their four seniors prior; Scott Kissinger (Islip Terrace),
Nick Perras (Lancaster, NH), Fabian Figueroa (Bronx, NY), and
Blaine Meehan (Winterport, ME), to the start of the game.
Husson used two runs in the first half, first one was a 10-1
push making it 13-4 at the 14:14 mark and then a big 16-2 run
making 38-18 with 6:57 to go in the first half. The Eagles
took a 52-29 advantage into the locker room. They hit a
sizzling 7-12 (58.3%) from the 3 point line and shooting 52.9% from
the field.
In the second half, they cooled off from behind the arch but
finished the game shooting 51.4% from the field. The Eagles
registered 22 assists to just 11 turnovers. Brock Bradford
(Jr, Kenduskeag, ME) finished with 17 points and 7
assists. Scott Kissinger had 13 points and 9
rebounds while Blaine Meehan added 10 points.
Lyndon State had four players in double figures. Brad Durr
(Sr, Windham, CT) had 17 points and 6 rebounds. Ben Sackett
(Fy, Lyndonville, VT) connected on 3 three pointers on his way to
16 points while Cesar Martinez (Sr, East Harlem, NY) added 14
points and 4 assists. Kail Stoddard-Imari (Sr, Lyndon Center,
VT) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds.
Husson moves to 13-10 and 10-2 in NAC play while Lyndon drops to
8-13 (4-8 NAC).
