Bangor, Maine - The Eagles won their 9th straight
game with a 67-53 win over Johnson State in NAC action at Newman
Gym. Bree Hanscom (FY, Mattawamkeag, ME) led Husson with 22
points and 7 rebounds.
Husson shot 50% from the floor in the first half in route to a
34-17 halftime lead. The Eagles held Johnson to just 15%
shooting. Hanscom had 12 of her 22 points in the first
half.
The Eagles pushed their lead to 20 points, early in the second
half going up 48-28, when Hanscom made a steal and converted the
basket in transition with 14:30 to play. Shelby
Bradford (Jr, Lee, ME) recorded her 14th double double
on the season, ending the game with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Johnson was paced by Claudia Martineau (Jr, Washington, VT) with
12 points and 4 rebounds while Janna Lewis (Middlebury, VT)
finished with 10 points. Johnson falls to 9-13 (4-7 NAC) on
the season.
Husson out rebounded the Badgers 48-28. The Eagles
sit atop the NAC standings with a 10-1 NAC record and are now 14-7
overall.
