Bangor, Maine - Husson University rolled to an 87-62 win in a
NAC match-up with Johnson State at Newman Gym. Brock Bradford
(Jr, Kenduskeag, ME) became the 38th player in the
program's history to score over a 1000 career points as the Eagles
registered five players in double figures.
The Eagles were up 25-22 with 8:29 before going on a 9-0 run
late in the first half. Jay Uhrin (So, Winterport, ME)
sparked the run by hitting a 3 pointer pushing Husson's lead to
28-22. Nick Perras (Sr, Lancaster, NH) connected on a three
two possessions later and Uhrin finished the run by getting to the
foul line on consective trips down the floor and hitting 3-4 foul
shots, making it 34-22 with 4:58 remaining in the first
half.
Johnson battled back to trail by 8, 58-50 with 11:40 to
go. Husson went on a 12-2 run over the next two minutes to
break the game open 70-52. Matt MacKenzie (Jr, Warren, ME)
paced the Eagles with 21 points (7-13 FG) while Perras added 15
points. Bradford chipped in 10 points and 9 assists, his
1000th career point came at the 11:34 mark in the first
half on a 10 foot jumper. Scott Kissinger connected on 3 3's
on his way to a 19 point and 7 rebound effort. Blaine Meehan
added 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Bobby Shedd (Sr, Johnson, VT) and John Foley (Sr, Morrisville,
VT) paced the Badgers. They combined for 25 out of 29 first
half points for Johnson. Shedd finished with 17 points while
Foley finished with 16 points. Miles Smith Jr. (Sr,
Philadelphia, PA) chipped in 13 points.
The Eagles hit 10-19 (52.6%) from behind the arch as they
finished shooting 53.4% from the field. They registered 23
assists to just 9 turnovers. Johnson shot 52.5% but committed
23 turnovers.
Husson is now 12-10 (9-2 NAC) while Johnson falls to 11-11 (5-6
NAC).
