Bangor, ME - The Husson University Eagles downed the St. Joseph's College Monks  92-67 at Husson's Newman Gymnasium.  Husson's Shelby Bradford (Sr., Lee, ME) and Brianna Hanscom (So., Mattawamkeag, ME) both recorded double-doubles on the victory.  With the win, Husson improves to 2-5 and St. Joseph's falls to 5-4.

In a back and forth first half with several lead changes, Husson's Bethany Sevey (Jr., Skowhegan, ME) put the Eagles on the scoreboard first with a three point shot.  Kelli Murray (Fy., Shawmut, ME) hit a layup to tie the game at 11 off an assist from Bradford.  St. Joe's Megan McDevit (So, Cumberland, ME) hit both foul shots to bring St. Joseph's within 6 points of Husson at 29-23.  St's Joe's Danyelle Shufelt (Fy., Sutton, VT) hit both of her foul shots to bring the score to 29-25 with Husson in the lead.   An inside pass to Hanscom put the Eagles up by three and an immediate steal by Murray led to a Bradford layup to end the half at 35-30

The second half opened up with a layup by Bradford to make it 37-30 Husson.    St. Joe's Meghan Daigle (Sr., Grantham, NH) made both foul shots to put the Monks within five.  A jumper from Sevey put Husson up by 13 at 45-32.  St. Joe's Ashley Geel (So., St. George, ME) immediately answered with an inside layup.  A slew of fouls called against Husson lead to a 73-56 score with St. Joseph's trailing.  St. Joe's Carolyn Freeman (Sr., Scarborough, ME) hit a three pointer to make the score 77-59 and Shufelt hit another three with 3 minutes left in the game.  The point deficit proved too great for the Monks to overcome and Husson emerged the winner at 92-67.

Husson's Shelby Bradford tallied 22 points and 14 rebounds on the win followed by Brianna Hanscom with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Amanda Gifford (So., Lee, ME) followed with 15 points on the victory.  St. Joseph's Megan McDevitt collected 17 points and four rebounds followed by Meghan Daigle who recorded 15 points and 4 rebounds.
