Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine - Five different Polar Bears scored as the
Bowdoin College men's soccer team blanked Husson on Tuesday
afternoon, 6-0. The Polar Bears are ranked seventh in New England
in the latest NSCAA Regional poll. Husson falls to 4-8-1 with
their third loss in their last four games.
Bowdoin wasted little time getting going on Tuesday afternoon, as
Tim Prior took advantage of a fumbled ball in the box by Husson
goaltender Miguel Dominguez and ripped a shot that bounced off the
post and into the net just 1:03 into the game.
The Polar Bears, who out-shot the Eagles 10-4 in the opening
period, were able to find the back of the net again shortly before
intermission.
Hugh Fleming took control of the ball at the top of the box and
ripped a turn-around shot to give the hosts a 2-0 lead at the
break.
Bowdoin continued to roll in the second half, as Zach Ostrup
played a hand in a pair of pretty goals. Ostrup played a
perfectly-placed corner to a diving Sean Bishop on the back post,
who headed home Bowdoin's third goal. Minutes later, Ostrup played
a long ball into the box where Michael Gale connected on another
header that slipped under the crossbar to give the Polar Bears a
four-goal advantage. Nick Powell added a pair of tallies with under
ten minutes to play to seal the win.
